At the Ohio Department of Children & Youth, I create visual communications that help bring the agency’s programs, initiatives and stories to life. As part of the Communications team, I work with program staff and leadership to turn ideas and complex information into clear, engaging content across a variety of formats, including:
•Print and digital marketing materials
•Presentations and executive communications
•Video production: from planning and interviews to lighting, filming and editing
•Photography, including professional headshots and event/program photography
•Motion graphics and multimedia content
•Accessible, user-friendly documents and resources
One of my favorite parts of this role is the variety. I might be designing a presentation one day and traveling on location to film interviews the next. I enjoy being involved in the entire creative process and finding the best way to tell each story — whether that’s through design, photography or video.
I'm especially proud of the video below. Working alongside my relationship manager, I had the opportunity to spend the day at Amanda Elementary School, capturing children as they prepared for kindergarten and interviewing teachers about the impact of the program. I handled the filming and editing, from start to finish, turning more than five hours of footage into a powerful five-minute story that highlights the difference this initiative is making. It was one of those projects that reminded me how much I love using video to tell meaningful stories.
